"Ten Years" is the seventh episode of Season 2 of ABC's A Million Little Things. It was written by Chris Erric Maddox & Dante Russo, and directed by Robert Duncan McNeill. It is the twenty-fourth episode of the series overall, and premiered on November 7, 2019.
Summary[edit | edit source]
The gang gathers for Theo's 10th birthday, which is also a significant milestone for Eddie. Meanwhile, Delilah, Eddie and Katherine are at an impasse about revealing the truth about Charlie; Rome and Regina try to keep Sophie from getting too close to PJ, and Maggie helps Gary make a difficult decision about his dog, Colin.
Plot[edit | edit source]
Katherine and Eddie are getting ready for Theo's 10th birthday party. When arriving home Katherine tells Eddie she doesn't like the arrangement that he and Delilah made without her. She doesn't like this open secret about who baby Charlotte is. Regina comes over to Katherine's to help set up the birthday party and make a cake for Eddie, who is secretly also celebrating 10 years being sober. While together Katherine confesses she enjoyed being open and honest about who baby Charlotte was to her. She doesn't want to lie and thinks they should come out and tell the kids because all the adults know, and she can't stand this open-secret anymore. Knowing this, Delilah and Kathryn ignore each other throughout most of the birthday party. However things come to a head when the party is over, and all three argue about what to do in the front yard. Afterwards, Katherine and Eddie privately celebrate his 10-year sobriety.
Gary is at the DMV waiting alongside Delilah as both Maggie and Sophie are trying out for their driver's license. Sophie gets her driver's license, but Maggie has a panic attack and doesn't even take the test. Back at home, Gary is debating on whether or not he should give Colin back to his rightful owner that he found the other week. He even goes to the old lady, Enid's house in the hopes that she is mean, only to find out she is incredibly kind and living on her own. Durring Theo's birthday party he is complexed on what to do. He leaves early and takes Colin to the park, and is hurt when he answers to his old name Wesley. Gary finally decides to give the dog back when Maggie shows up agreeing to take him. Having raced to the DMV to get her driver's license. Maggie takes the dog, leaving an emotionally upset Gary. The couple end up arriving at the old lady's house together, and both give Colin to her, she is ecstatic to have her go back. Once they get back inside the car, Maggie reveals that that was the dog from the pound, and Colin is still in the back seat.
Rome and Regina are watching baby Charlotte for Delilah. They're having trouble deciding who should take her as they both have things to do. Regina agrees to take the baby with her over to Katherine’s. During Theo's birthday party, Patrick who was invited over by Sophie, concerned that they might be related, Rome confirmed to Patrick who Sophie might be to him. He admits he only wants to know more about his father, but Sophie thinks she likes him romantically. Later when they go for a drive together in her car, Sophie tries to kiss PJ but knowing that she might be his half-sister he pulls away discussed. Embarrass Sophie tries to drive home the crashes the car into a pole. Her mother arrives and she cries in her arms over embarrassment. That night after the party Regina and Rome find a box at their door. It is the long-awaited DNA confirmation results about PJ. They open the box, and it confirms that Jonathan is Patrick's biological father.
