Not much is known about Smyka's early life.
Career[]
Smyka started her career as an actress. Her acting credits include Grey's Anatomy, Hipsterhood, TripTank, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Threadbare and Across the Hall, among others.
In 2017, Smyka started her career as a TV writer. Her first gig was the 9-episode Youtube series Threadbare, as she was also starring as the main character. In 2018, she joined the writing staff of the NBC series The Village. She mainly worked as a staff writer, but still wrote her first TV episode for the series. In 2021, Smyka joined the writing staff of the fourth season of Netflix's Atypical.
Later that year, Smyka started working on the ABC series A Million Little Things. She joined the writing staff as a story editor for the fourth season of the series. Eventually, she co-wrote her first episode of the series with Katie Scheines.[1]
