Not much is known about Tarasoff's early life. He was born and raised in Castlegar, British Columbia, Canada.

Tarasoff played jr hockey for the Castlegar Rebels until age 21, but after his final year he moved to Victoria B.C to start his acting career.
Tarasoff's TV credits include Salvation, Arrow, The Terror, Project Eugenics, Sardaar Ji and Hitler's Last Stand, among others.
In 2020, Tarasoff was cast as a rowdy customer on A Million Little Things.
