Layla Gregory is a character on A Million Little Things.
Biography[]
Early life[]
Layla was the daughter of Christopher and Georgia Gregory. She was also a cello prodigy, but she would "clam up any time it mattered". ("The Talk", "United Front")
At some point in her life, Layla became a student of music teacher Peter Benoit. After a while, Benoit asked Layla to wear a full-body unitard during their lessons, pretending it would help her build confidence. Then, he filmed the lessons arguing that she could see her progress that way. At first, Layla was hesitant because she felt ridiculous and uncomfortable. However, after 20 minutes, she forgot what she was wearing and played her instrument with confidence. ("The Talk", "United Front")
In 2019, Layla received a recommendation from Benoit. Thanks to that, she got into MMI and ended up being a 2019 Baxter Scholarship recipient, alongside Fiona Chao.[1] Later, Layla represented MMI at an Arts Benefit in Washington DC, where she performed a rendition of Bach's Cello Suite #1 Prelude.[2] ("United Front")
Some time later, Layla died by suicide. ("United Front")
Post-Death[]
Season 3[]
Trivia[]
- According to Dr. Reeves, Layla died six months before the events of "United Front".
- Per Sophie Dixon, Layla is one year older than her. ("No One Is to Blame")
