Katie Scheines is a writer of ABC's A Million Little Things.

Biography[]

Early Life[]

Scheines was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania as the youngest of three sisters with two academic parents. She started writing seriously in middle school, and won a Martin Luther King Jr. writing ward in 8th grade. She went to Pittsburgh's Schenley High School, where she directed the stage crew for 2 years.[1]

From 2008 to 2012, Scheines studied at Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts. She graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Writing for Film and Television.[1]

Career[]

Scheines started her career as a production assistant, working on the NBC series About a Boy and the fifth season of Parenthood. In 2014, she became a writer's personal assistant on Hulu's Deadbeat, before working as an assistant to Julie DeJoie and Thomas Schlamme at Shoe Money Productions.[1]

Scheines also worked as a production assistant on High & Tight, a TV film. In 2017, she was a script supervisor on the short film Just Like The Real Thing.

In May 2018, Scheines started working as a writer's assistant on the ABC series A Million Little Things. In 2020, she officially became a writer for the series, as she co-wrote her first episode with Geoffrey Nauffts.[2]
