Chandler Riggs is one of the actors of A Million Little Things, portraying the role of Patrick Nelson.

Biography[]

Early life[]

Not much is known about Riggs' early life. He was born on June 27, 1999 in Atlanta, Georgia. He the son of Gina Ann (née Carlton) and William Riggs; and he has a younger brother, Grayson.

Career[]

Riggs played a Munchkin in his musical theater debut, Atlanta's Fox Theater production of The Wizard of Oz. In 2009, at age nine, he got his first two major acting breaks simultaneously, as Tom in the film Get Low and a bit part in the television movie The Wronged Man.

In 2010, at age ten, Riggs was cast in his biggest role to date: Carl Grimes in The Walking Dead, an AMC horror drama television series. The series is the highest rated in cable television history and has smashed all previous ratings records. Riggs had previously worked with the show's executive producer Gale Anne Hurd on The Wronged Man.

In 2012 and 2013, Riggs was nominated for the Young Artist Award for Best Leading Young Actor for his role on The Walking Dead, and in 2014 won that award and a Saturn Award.

In 2018, it was announced that Riggs would leave The Walking Dead, and that his character, Carl Grimes, would be killed off. About his exit, Riggs said that "Leaving Walking Dead wasn't my decision. It was all story-related."[1] Grimes died in the ninth episode of the eighth season.

In 2019, Riggs was cast as Patrick Nelson on A Million Little Things.[2]
