Chad Bloom is a character on A Million Little Things. He was the younger brother of Maggie Bloom.

Biography

Early life

When Chad and his sister were kids, they went to the carnival. Maggie tried to win a stuffed panda from a Milk Bottle Knockdown Booth, but failed miserably. Chad then managed to steal it for her, knowing it was all rigged. He asked his father to not tell his sister nor his mother. ("The Day Before...")

Every Christmas until his death, Chad and his family would go to a cabin they rented on Pontoosue Lake and one minute before midnight on New Year's Eve, he would persuade his family to jump into the lake for a swim. ("Austin")

When Chad was 19, Chad developed depression and lapsed into alcoholism to self-medicate. One night, while his sister was at the movies with her friends, he got into a car accident while DUI. After the car hit a tree, he received traumatic brain injury from being thrown out of the car due to not wearing a seatbelt. His heart, on the other hand, was in great condition and later given to Chloe Myers, thanks to the signed permission of his mother Patricia. After the heart transplant, Chad died. Post-Death

After her son's death, Patricia lied to Maggie about Chad's death. She pretended that he died immediately when his car hit the tree, as she did not want her daughter to know that Chad had suffered or to regret missing the chance to say goodbye. ("The Perfect Storm")

Chad's family soon stopped going to the cabin at the lake. ("Austin")

Season 2

During a psychic reading performed by Elon, the latter claims to have accidentally conjured up the spirit of Chad instead of Delilah's dead husband Jonathan Dixon. He insists that the last thing Chad had been thinking about was Maggie before his accident. ("Grand Canyon")

When Patricia decides to formally introduce Eric to Maggie, she admits the truth about Chad's death to her daughter. ("The Perfect Storm")
